Struggle of Temptation

Official OnlineBookClub.org review

Struggle of Temptation is an exhilarating romantic tale filled with love, guilt, and sacrifices. Chere Lynn encapsulates her readers in an unpredictable love story between Sara Gibson and Rob Donavan as they make drastic choices and sacrifices that change everything.

Sara is a renowned influential movie director in Hollywood. Her world became different when she met a promising newbie actor, Rob. As they fell madly in love, Sara realized that the circumstances surrounding their blossoming romance would have devastating consequences on Rob’s career and his march to stardom.  She resolved to get over him, but destiny had something planned for these love birds amidst the evil manipulations of a malicious threat hidden in the shadows.

Chere Lynn did a marvelous job in the storyline, making the plot believable and realistic. She made a commendable effort in creating a strong female character as the central figure of the story. Generally, the book contained many life lessons that readers could learn. The beginning captured my attention and held it till the end of the book.

As expected, there were scenes of sexual intercourse but nothing too explicit compared to any erotica.  The conclusion of the book wasn’t out of the ordinary, but the drama and eagerness to know the end kept me fixated.

The book possessed many elements that drove my hunger to read more. There was suspense, thrills, and a dramatic turn of events. Although it was emotional, the author added humor to liven up the characters’ conversations.

The book had many rich, engaging, and compelling characters: the author clarified them properly. The character development was superb, as only essential details were supplied for the story’s development.

The book’s theme was emotionally satisfying, as the subplots and scenarios were enough to satisfy my fantasy. The pace at which the book progressed reflected the writer’s professional skill in storytelling, not being too fast or too slow. The setting was quite detailed and fulfilled its role in the painting of the romantic picture needed. The lovely island of Hawaii, the volcano, and the beach settings bolstered the book’s emotional intensity.

Struggle of Temptation was a great book, and I loved every bit of it. The book lacked no element of romance.  I’d give it a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I’d highly recommend it to adult romance readers and anyone looking to lavish time on a well-written book.

Loved it! A rollercoaster ride filled with drama, intrigue, and plenty of wits! A heartfelt story of overcoming the odds with an emphasis on faith.

The overall theme of the story relies heavily on faith, charm, and taking chances. While this is a romance story, there are moments of intrigue and mystery thrown into the mix. In every sense, it’s as if I was watching a movie from start to finish.

I absolutely adore Sara Gibson’s work ethic. Being a female director, she worked hard to make sure that her movie projects were top-notched. Rob Donavan’s carefree personality is the perfect juxtaposition to Sara’s busy bee persona. In some ways, it can be seen as the “opposites attract” type of setup.

I particularly liked how the author crafted up the conflict on two spectrums – a powerful female director paired up with a newcomer male actor and the possible scandalous rumor of a costar sleeping his way to the top with his director, who is older and has more grit and savviness in the media scene.

What I love about this story is how the author created a sense of community surrounding the main characters (i.e. their friends and family) Each member involved in the main characters’ lives provides impact and shapes Sara and Rob’s struggles as they tried to overcome a hindering force that kept them apart for a few years.

The author strikes a good balance in providing descriptive imagery and character development throughout the course of the story. I especially enjoyed reading Sara and Rob’s thoughts of each other when they were trying their hardest to resist each other and stick to business.

I highly recommend Struggle of Temptation to those who are looking to root for the main characters an see their relationship evolve over the years. More importantly, to those who believe that love is worth fighting for, regardless of their differences. I’d give it a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
